Art Glass – Making It Beautiful

    By coders | Uncategorized | Comments are Closed | 19 May, 2014 | 0

Art glass can be an excellent medium for home décor. It is simple, elegant, and can really provide a dramatic visual effect that can’t be achieved with other types of décor. The translucence of glass and the depth of it mean that it needs to be perfectly placed in order to allow light to pass through, and in some cases, designing a space around art glass can be easier than finding a space for art glass in an area that is already built. With that said, however, the right lighting options will allow you to place art glass virtually anywhere.

    Placement in the Home

You will find that you can place art glass virtually anywhere in your home to great effect. You can make use of glass lighting fixtures that are created in a wide array of different styles, or you can even have art glass panels on your walls. Coffee tables can be adorned with vases, bowls, flowers, and other items comprised of art glass, or you can find wall ornamentations that will make a boring or plain wall sizzle with color. Your only real limitation is your imagination, and you will certainly find that art glass offers plenty of options for virtually any space.

    Lighting for Dramatic Effect

Of course, while art glass on its own is incredibly beautiful, the real beauty of it shows when light is allowed to pass through. Using lamps and other lights to highlight items sitting on tables and shelves can bring out the vibrancy in their colors, while placing lights above and below wall panels and fixtures can help you highlight their colors or create unique shadows around the room. Ceiling fixtures made of art glass often have spaces for lights built in, creating a sort of self-illumination. Lighting can make or break the visual effect of your art glass, and learning how to properly illuminate it so that you get the most color can really change the entire look and feel of a room.

Art glass is an excellent addition to any home and, genuinely, to any room. Whether you are looking to add some color to a black or white wall or want to make your tabletops a little less humdrum, you will find that art glass can be the ideal way to achieve your desired effect. Take the time to choose the right pieces for the space and you will be amazed at the results!
